Further Information on Gay
Brighton has a long established Gay Scene and is probably the gay capital of Britain. It far surpasses the scene found in Manchester or London. From the 1960’s onwards the gay scene has concentrated on the Kemp Town area of Brighton which is located just East of the Palace Pier. This is still where many gay people congregate and live and the prices of accommodation in the area reflect this.
Some figures state that 19% of men in Brighton are gay due to the good old magnet effect. Consequently you can find absolutely anything gay in Brighton from Gay hairdressers (can you find a straight one?) to Gay plumbers.
